Jan and I did end up walking at Hasson Heights. There was a bit of snow on the ground and it was chilly. She showed me her old childhood home over the hill from the park and we had lunch at The Villa afterwards. Some pictures:
These trees all had ivy growing up their trunks.
Jan's childhood home. All she had to do was climb this hill and she was in the park.
St Joe's twin steeples barely visible in the background.
Jan pointing things out to me.
Where a squirrel had scampered over the fresh snow of this fallen log.
I brought hot coco in a thermos and this is where we sat for a little refreshment.
Afterwards we drove over to the cemetery where Candy and I were yesterday and I got a photo with my cellphone this time of St Joe's church. While driving up to this spot we saw 10 does. The cemetery must be a good place for them to hide from hunters. Some were lying down and some were just milling around the ones that were lying down. We drove by pretty close and none of them ran. I should have got a picture of that. But I didn't want to stay too long or scare them away. As we were watching some of the ones lying down got up. Running away would have been their next move I feared.
