A stay at home day today. Planning to work on Kathy's watch bracelet. I made it too big and now I am adjusting it to be smaller - putting in different jump ring connectors and cutting back some of the length where it attaches to the watch - soldering on new tube holders for the watch pins. I hope I will have it done today and can get it in the mail tomorrow.

Dark and overcast. Below freezing but not windy so it doesn't feel too bad out there.

I'll probably spend some time learning 2 new piano songs today (Finlandia and Christmas Day Secrets). Usually I have 3 songs I'm working on - at different levels of competency. As I get good at one it gets retired and then I get a new one. This time I have 2 that are new. My brain is getting a workout.

Last night I couldn't sleep and got up and crocheted for a while. I now have 11 of the octagons for the blanket done. I will need 30 in all to have a blanket that will cover the top of our queen bed. I want the colors to be very random (not repeated beside each other) and evenly distributed in the finished blanket so I need to plan for randomness. Every once in a while I need to get out the yarns and redistribute them into sets of 6 for future octagons. Then I put the sets into separate bags and they are ready to use when I start a new octagon. Today is my day to sort the colors:

Progress.

I was thinking last night (at 3 am) about my sleep patterns through the seasons. I have perhaps 3 different patterns and they all have naps in them. But the naps might come at different times of the day and be longer or shorter. Seems I can't sleep more than 6 hours at a time and sometimes I can only stay asleep for 4 hours at a time. I'm in the winter pattern now. I usually go to bed at 9, or as early as 8. Then I wake up at 1 or 2 am and stay away for a few hours. Then back to bed till 6 when I get up for real. I don't mind being awake in the middle of the night. I like the alone time. A good time to think and crochet and listen to music. There will be a nap later today.
