I wish I had a house cleaner but I don't. Well, I do - but it's me. Darn. I cleaned before company came for Easter dinner and it looks like another cleaning would be nice already. I think it gets dirty fast cause of having the 2 dogs and we don't take off our shoes when we come in the house - that would just be very annoying to have to do - the amount of times we go in and out.
The biggest news in my mind is I ordered another bike. Yes, I am spoiled - or wasteful or something bad for having 4 bikes now but that's too bad. I do think I will sell at least one of the older bikes - probably Schwinn will go. The new bike is a Fuji Barnebey 7 speed. It's a comfort/cruiser bike with a laid back design. You can put your feet flat on the ground while still sitting in the saddle when you come to a stop. That will make it safer for me. A lot like a Townie bike but a bit lighter. The tires are a little fatter than the ones on both my hybrid bikes so it will be good for cinder trails and rough trails that go through the woods. And supposedly from what I read about it the gearing will be good on hills. Can't wait to get it and try it out. It will be shipped partially put together and I think I will take it to a bike shop to have it professionally put together, though probably Dave could do it. Anyway I think I am going to love the pewter gray color. It is a new bike but not the newest model - the one I'm getting is a 2017 so the price is good. I'm picturing my future with bikes will be Sunshine Trike taking me on the flat rail trials and Barnebey Jones will be my woods trails and hills bike. I'm a little nervous cause I haven't had a chance to ride this particular bike though I have ridden similar ones and liked them so I hope it feels good when it gets here.
I'm getting more and more songs to practice on the piano - that is very satisfying to me. I wouldn't say I'm any good at any of them. But I like working my way through them and sometimes I get every note right and that is a big YAY. The Honeybee, Cuckoo, Lightly Row, French Children's Song, London Bridge and Mary Had a Little Lamb (from the Suzuki book) and Minuet in G Major, Ninth Symphony Theme and Brahms Lullaby from the 42 Famous Classics Arranged for Easy Piano book. Progress.
I had a busy day yesterday - went out walking twice and didn't take the time to do any art-a-day. First I walked with Jan and Berdella at the Falling Run trail and in the late afternoon Dave and I took the dogs to the gamelands hill near Polk.
A nice view from one of the bridges at Falling Run - Lake Wilhelm in the background.
An island out in Wilhelm. I liked the clouds.
This is an anode box that connects to the gas pipeline that is underground. It's made of aluminum and Dave tells me that porcupines love to eat aluminum. Can you imagine biting off aluminum metal with your teeth?
Rainy looking over the hill to where Andy has run off. She didn't want to follow. Neither did we - this was as far as we went on our walk. Pretty little green leaf buds in the trees there.
