good morning saturday

I see I've not posted here since Tuesday. What can I remember of the last few days? On Wednesday Jan and I hiked at the gamelands that overlooks Polk. We didn't make it to the hill edge where you can see Polk off in the distance - too far to go on Jan's new knee. But we went nearly 4 miles over uneven ground with many fallen trees that needed stepped over and that was certainly good enough. On the way home we ate at the airport restaurant. We had a good time watching out the big windows while we ate and saw planes landing and taking off, refueling, people getting on and off their small propeller planes. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted Nancy and I to go back there for our Thursday lunch and we did. I was hoping on Thursday that we might have some good weather for Nancy and me to go on a bike trail with her wheelchair but it was drizzling when we got out of the restaurant. After dropping Nancy off, on the way home I got a call from Jules asking could I pick up Rossy from school. He was caught with tobacco chew in his mouth and was suspended for 2 days. If there is a kid who is unlucky and gets caught on the first time he does anything bad it will be Rossy. He only had it in his mouth a few minutes before school - another kid gave it to him - before he spit it out but he still had residue in mouth when the teacher caught him. I think someone must have told on him. Anyway, he spent the day with Dave and me yesterday. It was a rainy, dark morning and after Sebastian went off to school we (Rossy on the couch, and Dave and I) went back to bed. When we got up for the second time later we went to Meadville to see if Dave could find a few things. I brought 2 of my ukuleles along and while Dave was in the stores Rossy and I sat in the car and played them and talked. To me a very enjoyable day - two grandparents with a grandchild for the day.

Eggs du jour. Everyone laid an egg yesterday for the first time this year. I know the look of everyone's eggs now. Clockwise: Dot (always smooth and shiny), Little Comfort (very white), Peanut Butter (matte surface), Autumn (large) and Summer (huge and dark).

My clothes hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I noticed that I am shifting to more and more black lately.

Another rainy dark day today. OA in the morning and then some shopping and home again is the plan. I can hear the chickens on the baby monitor waking up now - time to go out and let them out of the coop.
