I'm a couple days behind with posting.

Writing prompts (I would like to keep up with this as a challenge):

August 2nd (Thursday) - New Coat.
First I had ideas of drawing a coat instead of writing - a picture is worth a thousand words (but only if you get around to drawing the picture). A patchwork coat of many colors and many images. My coat, my new coat - the one I put on after I die. It might be a baby human skin, an animal skin, a carapace, a shell, a green leafy sun loving coat living on just water and air (that would be nice - minimal decisions). It might be Gaia's coat; made of earth, molten rock and seawater, oxygen and carbon dioxide - I might be a tiny stitch in that coat, flowing and changing, exchanging, little deaths, and little lives coming from little deaths. I might put on a coat of light and energy and broadcast myself through eternity. Or I might put on a coat that is blackness, nothing and it's over now. I don't know.

On Thursday Nancy and I had a picnic breakfast on the bike trail at a wooden table beside the river, with Rainy too. She read me a poem about being surprised at what might be there at death. We don't know. We can't know. The great mystery.

August 3rd (Friday) - Short _____.
Short hair - that's easy. Yesterday was the day that we took Rainy to get a hair cut. Sebby wants to practice driving more so he has become my chauffeur. I like that. There is a detour in town right now - traffic backed up terribly so I showed him a couple country road ways to get around and tried to explain that basically we were trying to find a different way to get across French Creek. To do that you could go on the official detour through town and cross the Allegheny River or you would go upstream on French Creek till you get to the next bridge, which is in Utica. We had a nice time slowly driving though the country side and beside French Creek. We also went to the driver's center so he could practice parallel parking. He is surprisingly patient and got good at it. I'm proud of him.

August 4th - Walk a Mile.
That's what I'd like to do today - walk a few miles. Yesterday was such a sedentary day - riding in the car and just sitting around the house, watching a movie twice, napping. Rainy is energized by her hair cut (I think) and today would be a great day to get her out and try her on a hiking trail again. My legs sometimes feel so strong - they want to walk, they want to move. It feels like there are springs in there and they want to push against the ground. I start to feel like a machine. That is the best.
