The bike trail wasn't really a success. The first night Sebby and I turned back before we even got to town cause it was obvious that a storm was coming our way. Last night we did get to the bike trail and Rainy loved it for about a mile (looking around and smelling the air) then all of a sudden she changed her mind about the experience and kept trying to escape her halter and climb over my shoulder to get onto my lap. Thank goodness Sebby was with me and watching her from behind to let me know if she was in danger. The halter is too big. I had sewn 2 tucks into it and thought it fit her but it still wasn't small enough for a little squirming doglet who was very set on getting out of it. I tried to pedal with her on my lap/tummy but that wasn't possible either. Finally to get back to the car I needed to hook her up to her collar (instead of the halter) and listen to her cough when she pulled on it. Poor little thing. Maybe I'm trying to do all these wonderful things that I was looking forward to doing with a small dog too soon. She needs to get more confidence in her new life so she can be calm and not need to be held so much (she loves being held). The new plan: next week get a better fitting halter and travel around the yard a lot more before we try going miles on the bike trail again.

Dave is making good progress on the fence. This morning we picked up 2 rolls of 5' woven wire fencing and right now he and Sebby are stringing it onto the posts. Soon!
