During the night a car wrecked into an electric pole in front of a neighbor's house (I hope no one was seriously injured - the pole was sheared off and in 3 pieces) and we lost power around 3 in the morning. The temperature outside was in the 30's and as the day went on the temp inside our house eventually got down to 50. I did enjoy the quietness of the house this morning and the light of dawn on fresh snow coming in the windows with no electric lights to mar it. I took some snow pictures around the yard. Maybe this will be the last snow of the year? I hope winter will be over someday.
Me in my chicken chore coat and hat.
Waves of snow breaking in the tree tops.
A chicken peeking out. I put the xylophone there in case they wanted to play it in the morning while they wait for me to open the door for them. I hear a rare note on the baby monitor sometimes but they certainly aren't the musicians I hoped they would be.
Tree fan.
Emoclew.
As the day went on the main thing I was worried about was Yoshi - if she got too cold she could die or get sick so I put her inside my jacket, put on a quilted vest over that and went to bed to keep her warm. She was quiet in there, hidden away and still for a long time. I think she was enjoying the warmth. At first she felt like a big cold lump on my chest. I had Dave put a second quilt over us. I fell asleep. Then the electric came on around 4 and I started moving around and she started to crawl out. I took this weird selfie of us as she was coming out:
