Last evening Rossy, Sebby and I biked around Wilhelm. That was going to be the big test for Sunshine - see how she would do on the hills there. I had heard that trikes are great on the flats and rail trails (I experienced that on Monday - yes!) but they aren't so good on hills - very slow. I didn't want to believe it - my trike would be different. But it's not. Kind of disappointed in how slow I was last night. Much slower than when I was on my regular bike last year. The boys had to wait for me a lot of the time. They were nice to their grandma and would bike ahead to the next bench and then wait for me there so I didn't fall too far behind. Sebby loves to bike Wilhelm and wants to do it again, even with slow old grandma on her trike so I am willing. I know I was using muscles I had never used before and probably I will get stronger the more I go there. But for today I think I will head into town this morning and go on the rail trail there by myself just so I can experience the thrill of going easily again. I want to enjoy this nice weather as much as possible. It is quite extraordinary that we can bike at all in February. Usually biking doesn't start here till April.
This morning I was practicing my penny whistle playing Puff the Magic Dragon and Andy started singing along. This is the second time he has sung with me and he really got into it this time. What was funny was he was laying on the couch on his back sleeping like usual and as I played he started to sing, still on his back, quietly like humming and then he rolled over and sat up and sang wholeheartedly. I drew the last note of the song out and he did too. I don't know if it is just to the song Puff or if he will do it on more songs.
I take the cats to the vet this afternoon. Not looking forward to it. They both hate to go and I haven't taken them for a long time. I hope the vet doesn't find anything bad. I'm pretty sure Skye will be fine but Milo is getting pretty old (15) and he has lost weight.
