Evening in Gas City.

Really nice day today - and a beautiful evening. Dave and I took Andy for a walk on a road in the game lands near Gas City. Actually Gas City is no more - it once was a thriving little town in the old oil days but now there is nothing there except woods. The sun was slanting through the trees very nicely for our walk. Andy got into some smelly swamp water, then later found some fresh water to lay in so he didn't smell quite so bad when we got back to the car. On the way home we stopped at Home Depot so Dave could buy a smoker. I was encouraging him to get one (Father's Day is a good excuse). I'm looking forward to smoked fish.

We got home and I checked on the chickens to find that they were trying to sleep in the place I put their water bottle and had tipped it over. The whole gang was piled on top of each other in the wetness. I cleaned out the old wet bedding and put the refilled water bottle back in place again. As soon as I closed the coop back up I could hear a bang and knew they had knocked it over again. They insist on sleeping in the area behind it, up against that wall. So I gave up and moved it to a new place after mopping up the wetness and adding new bedding there. Chickens are dumb - but I love em anyway.
