oh boy

I lost the gold crown off one of my front teeth the day before yesterday and went to the dentist today to see what he could do about it. I will need a whole new crown. I am going with a normal porcelain crown this time. When I got out to the car with the temporary tooth in Dave said I looked strange (without my gold).

When we got home I did the final prep for the coop and Rossy helped me move the chicks out. I love watching them enjoy their new bigger space.

Skye is watching the birds out the window and I am watching the chicks on the monitor.
I am having nearly as much fun watching them on the little baby monitor screen as when I go out and see them for real.

Outside to get more pics.

They were clustered under the light - just woke up from a nap. I probably wouldn't need to put the heat light on but they do seem to enjoy it. It is unseasonably cold today.

Then they all moved down to the other end of the coop for feeding time.

Coop, tent, house.

From the front.

Watching them on the monitor as I write this.

Closeup. It tells you the temp too - but I checked it with a regular thermometer and it's off - it's not really 81 F in there. More likely 75 F under the light. It's neat that with this monitor you can talk to the "baby" too. Rossy and Hazel were just out there and I was talking to them.

I will take some more pictures later today when they venture forth for the first time to the outdoors. I can't wait to see them clustered around the door looking out. I bet Wings will be the first out.
