After leaving Dennis and Sharon's house in Napa Valley, Aunt Rene drove us to cousin Donna's house down below San Francisco. We stopped at the best roadside produce market, run by an old Italian man. I loved his accent and the way the sun filtered down through those colored awnings. I got the most delicious apricot whole wheat bars there:
We were just starting across the Golden Gate Bridge here. It seemed so exciting to be approaching this famous structure. Poor Aunt Rene - probably very boring to her as she has lived around here for so many years. She was such a gracious hostess though and suggested we stop for pictures - I'm so glad she did! :

Those big blue spiky flowers beside the bridge are lupines of some sort (I think) - big flowers huh? They seem to like to grow by the coast especially:
