moving right along...

My mosaic customer just left. I took the drawing, the ceramic parts and the colors of stained glass I was going to use to her house, met her husband and they both liked most everything. It was fine for her to tell me what she didn't like - that's what I wanted to know! She didn't like the wall I had beside the road - there will be a bank of all kinds of flowers there now instead. And she wanted more of a hodgepodge of stained glass in the fields - not just one kind of stained glass tesserae in each field - I can easily do that. I really like that idea - it is the way I usually do things anyway. Then she came here to see more glass and glazes and we were able to pick out more elements that can be used for the bank of flowers. I told her the price and she was okay with it - I think she didn't expect it to be that much but I prefaced it by telling her how much more work this was than the previous thing I had made that she had bought. So it is all out in the open and decided - yay! I also have her email address now (which she was supposed to give me long ago) so I can keep in touch and show her things as they go along. I can move ahead freely now!

Bonus. She just got back from a trip to Seattle and she brought me back a gift from the Chihuly museum:

Each pencil has 2 colors - one in each end. I told her I wouldn't be using them - they will be an artwork on my shelf.

skye, mosaic commission, moving forward
