Tell me if I'm wrong, but the impression they show us the medias in Europe ,make me feel that Mccain would lose a lot of votes because of her.Maybe I'm wrong, but it's the impression that people have here in Europe...What do you think??

Wow, that's really interesting! I like hearing about the European news! Palin was certainly a risky choice, and who knows if she'll help or harm McCain? It depends what they can dig up about her character, and how well she handles questions from the press. I'm guessing that she won't harm McCain. But she also isn't going to help him significantly. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean that Hillary Clinton voters will like her. Perhaps the Europeans are responding to her lack of foreign policy experience. But that's McCain's strength, so maybe it won't matter as much to American voters. However, he's OLD! What if he died and she became the President? I'm confident that she could handle it, but I don't think she's the second most qualified person for the job ( ... )

OO I forgot about this, frak, you're right she's not the person qualified for that job.

Cons: Palin is relatively inexperienced, especially in foreign policy (though she has been Governor of Alaska since 2006); her 17 year old daughter is pregnant; she's about to be investigated in an ethics trial.

Yes,they speak a lot about this here too.

Your analysis is spot on, and it makes me sick (her content not you being brilliant). I have no other words than that* Oh and it was some great rhetoric except for failing on two parts - that I'm sure you've heard by now - 1) it resonates with the base, not the swing voters/independents and 2) all rhetoric no policy.

Also, the crowd was not entirely well-dressed white people. I saw two cowboy-hatted poorly dressed (and matching) lesbians being visibly shunned by the rest of the white people. It was lolz.

*ok see I always have more words than that. I should know me better.

Actually, I hadn't heard these two failings, summed up so nicely before! 1) it resonates with the base, not the swing voters/independents and 2) all rhetoric no policy. I'm glad that she's not appealing to swing voters, because she shouldn't! She's very conservative. There is a wide, wide ocean between her and Hilary Clinton; I just HAD to point out a few of them. :D

I saw two cowboy-hatted poorly dressed (and matching) lesbians being visibly shunned by the rest of the white people. I wish I'd seen this!!! Not so much to see their performance of sexual orientation, but the Republicans' reactions to it. (Though I suspect a Democratic crowd wouldn't be much different.)

Several years ago, I took a trip to NYC with my boyfriend at the time, to visit his best friend from college. After four years in the closet at our conservative college, Dan had come out. It was totally awesome to see him wearing neon green shoes and just shining all over. I mean, he actually had a personality, which I had never detected at Miami. There ( ... )
