After reading another story like this, I have to ask the following question. Do we need a training class that you have to pass before you can purchase a gun?

I mean, this is the kind of thing that I'm sure that the NRA would be both for and against. For in that it makes people responsible gun owners and against because it would be a barrier to purchasing a gun.

But a simple class. One or two days over successive weekends. With Gibbs-slaps being handed out every time you do something wrong. Like, I don't know... making sure you don't have a fucking round chambered when you are cleaning the gun?

Note: I do not own a gun. I do not have plans to own a gun in the near future. I have a home defense mace that my best friends got for me one year. The main reason that I do not own a gun is that I do not have the time and money to become proficient (and no jokes please about gaining a level, please).
