Since I didn't win the lottery this weekend, plans that have been on indefinite hold remain on indefinite hold.
Now, just so you know, yes I do know that the odds of me winning are extremely slim. No serious plans I have hinge on lottery money. I have a decently comfortable life, pay my bills and eat probably a little too good, if the extra weight (re. fat) around my midsection is any indication.
I have been asked what I would do if I did win the lottery and the list is actually fairly short.
The list:
Pay off all my debts.
Get a new car. Not cars. I can't drive more than one, so I don't currently see the need for more than one.
Buy some land (20-30 acres).
Build a decent sized house on the land as well as some additional dwellings for friends when they visit (like bungalows or something). That way, when they visit, they can crash there, rather than somewhere else like a floor or hotel. Also means that I don't have to be woken up by their kids, as most of them have kids now.
Set up funds so that my friends kids can go to college. Or a tech school, trade school, whatever, if that's what they want. But only one degree. No law school however and a full ride if they want to be a doctor.
Sleep late. No, seriously. Sleep late.
There's other stuff on the list too. But surprisingly not a lot of traveling. Yes, I would have the money, but you know, I don't really like to travel a lot. And with the burden of passports and/or air travel these days, it really doesn't seem like it would be worth the bother.
