Hello all. The trade show I'm at is slow as hell, so I'm killing time. On the plus side of things, I am in Edinburgh, Scotland, which has always been one of my favorite cities since I was a kid. Awesome place.
Anyway. I was at my cousin's wedding this weekend (good times were had by all). There was to be quite a bit of free time between the various happenings, so his BIL-to-be brought his Wii to the cottages we were all staying at. This is the first time I've ever played one, and I have to say I enjoyed it thoroughly (and we only played the basic Sport games). So now I'm considering getting one for myself.
What are people's thoughts on the Wii? Cool gaming system? Simply an over-hyped gimmick with old technology graphics? Just curious to know if there is something else that I should perhaps consider (PS3 or Xbox or ???). What advantages/disadvantages are there to each? Any gotchas one needs to consider for any of these?
Keep in mind I'm obviously not your hard-core gamer here. Just looking for something to play around with from time to time, and perhaps even using for fitness too (as I've seen can be done with the Wii). I'm not particularly interested in things like GTA IV or stuff like that; I was always more into things like Zelda.
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks.
