SEED Destiny
Additionally, I spent the early part of this week (working the last of the allergy crud out of my system, I think) re-watching the last 3/4s or so of Gundam SEED Destiny. It improves significantly upon additional viewing. Many of the characters' actions - especially Athrun's, Cagalli's Lunamaria's, Shinn's, Rey's, Meyrin's, Djibril's, and Dullandel's - now make perfect sense, and work together quite nicely. The parallels with Zeta were also more obvious, as was the substantial volume of material it appears to draw from general Asian mythology. The plot also seems more coherent, and faster-paced.
Plus, there were some really awesome fight sequences hiding in there!
Final rating: A or A-, pending the real final episode, which is due to air in aobut a week. SEED, for comparison, was an A+, and V and Turn A were both As.
One of the main reason's for Destiny's downgrading: not enough Yzak and Dearka! We need more appearances by the ambiguously gay and extremely badass and amusing duo, dammit! (Yes, of course they're probably gay. Why do you think Milly and Dearka broke up? Seriously!)
