Thursday ~ 5 miles (to and from work and I think I should get an extra mile for walking home yesterday in the torrential downpour that caused me to walk in water, in some spots, over my ankles).
That's all the extended walking I'm doing this week. I've had an off-week, which is not to say that I've been bummed or anything, I've just had cause to drive instead of walk. Tuesday I was supposed to have my therapist appointment and transiting to that takes too long for my therapist, Wednesday I had my chiropractor, but I also needed to pickup Chinese food for a staff lunch and I couldn't do that on foot. And today I drive to work because my shoes are still soaking wet along with my jeans and other goodies and it's still wet and chilly outside, so it's best if I drive.
At work, I think my co-worker is going to launch an offensive on me for a warning memo that we gave her yesterday for consistently coming in late for the last week and a half. It's the first official warning she's received since she started in June of '06 and it is comically overdue. After we issued her the warning and had a discussion about it, she fired off an email to our Boss claiming that she a) doesn't slack (har har!) and b) has made observations of her own about my work habits, though she shared no details, my boss advised me off the record to make sure I have tough skin because things might get ugly.
Honestly, she can bring it on. My work speaks for itself. Sure, I'm guilty of wasting time here and there, but I put forth more effort in this job with my little pinky than she does with her whole being and it'll become clear as she goes about pointing fingers. If they do find fault with me, termination is not in line for me, at most a reprimand and some refocusing of my job is the 'worst' that can happen. Even then, I welcome their involvement in my work duties; it would be the first of such kind since I began two years ago.
