Cats!

Friday~ 4.0 miles (2.5 miles all the way to work!  + .5 miles travel around the city + 1.0 mile from the train station home at the end of the night.)

That makes my weekly total = 20.4 miles! That's a new personal best! That's 4.1 miles per day, on average! :) :)

I walked myself all the way to work this morning! It was the first time I'd done it, but it was very easy. I came into a work a bit sweaty and my office mate made sure to let me know about it, but even she couldn't make me feel self-conscious. On the way to work, I was thinking about money and my budget (it seems I'm always thinking about that stuff) and how to squeeze money out of my bills. I called Anna to talk about some of my thoughts and ask her opinion on a few things. And then I called my mom to ask for her opinion, too (she works in the banking industry plus, she's my mom) and when I told her about my shoes, she insisted on buying me a "new set of rubbers for my wheels." So, yay!

On the way to work, I  found a dead cat on a stairwell and it creeped me out to no end.

I know it had only been dead less than two days because I hadn't seen it there the day before. He just looked so peaceful sleeping there. But he was dead. It made me very sad to wonder how he died. Did someone hurt him? Did he just lay down and die there of malnutrition? Was he sick?

On the way home from our evening out, we found a kitty with, what we think, pretty bad nerve damage in his hind legs. He seems to have spastic back legs which cause him to flop over when he tries to stand or sit still and make him nose dive into his food and milk bowls. You can hear him coming down the hallway by the sound of his little body flopping against the ground or his nose plunking on the tile. He smells like human urine, which is pretty gross when you think about it.

But he's very cute:

He's called Sailor for his drunken gait.

Facing off with Blue Eyes, who is leery of his unsteady footing.

Toby checking him out.

He needs medical attention and we can't really afford it, so we're probably going to drop him off at a vet who we know will take care of him and adopt him out, rather than killing him. I can feel my heart strings being tugged though, so it's going to be tough...
