Okay, so I'm not talking politics here, but I live in the tech world so give me a break.
I haven't seen the conversation I expected on LJ surrounding two pretty major issues in my mind:
1- The purchase of Livejournal by an international media company and the concurrent founding of Livejournal, Inc.
2 - Facebook's Beacon
If you're a Facebook user (or, really, even if you aren't since Facebook collects info on you regardless), you need to block Beacon.
Here's how:
If you use Firefox (link has links to instructions for other browsers), download the add-on BlockSite and block (with asterisks) http://* facebook.com/beacon/*
This is a gross invasion of privacy. Protect yourself.
I'd say drop your account, but I'm not going to just yet and it doesn't really look like that would help.
