So my meetings went okay. Took the PPJT, think I did well, so yay! Decided to not drop chem right now. Maybe later. So then I rushed through the chem HW I needed to submit before midnight, haha, because I didn't think I would need to do it. So yeah. I made it. Then I did this quiz, which brought back a lot of memories, both good and bad.
1. Nickname in high school?: Michigan
2. Sport you were into?: Played Babe Ruth baseball for the town of Exeter, for 3 years.
3. Had a circle of friends?: Band group that remained strong throughout all four years of high school, then completely broke after school. Jess, Lisa, Matt, Erica, Becky, Mark, Josh, Courtney
4. Best subject?: Spanish
5. Worst subject?: Probably Advanced Math, junior year.
6. A teacher you owe life lessons to?: Definitely Mr. (Rod) Smith. He was an amazing teacher, and showed me that difficult classes are the ones that teach the most material, and the most lessons.
7. A teacher you wanna kick in the ass?: Mrs. Supple
8. Freshman year?: Did really well, straight A’s across the board. Met the band upperclassmen (Amanda, James, Erik), had Rod’s Phys. Sci. class. Made Stage Band freshmen year, it was awesome. Band trip to Williamsburg, VA. MB Show: Beatles.
9. Sophomore year?: Group continued to go. Met Randlett and the cool freshmen. Stage Band (section leader). MB Show: Latin Jazz
10. Junior year?: Amazingly hard year. 2 AP classes, had a lot of other shit. Was on TV--Granite State Challenge, awesome. We made it to the state quarterfinals, because we were AWESOME! Band geek extraordinaire by this point. MB Show: 007
11. Senior year?: Various honor societies, lots of band stuff. Stage Crew for Oklahoma! wOOt. Group of friends cracked at the beginning of the year, if not at the edge of breaking. By mid-year, everybody was 'thinking' that we should stay together, and wait until summer to break apart. MB Show: 70’s Rock
12. Your best friend was?: MattyD and Mark.
13. Your worst friend was?: Paul P.
14. Cafeteria food sucked?: Never really had it. I think I got lunches for about a week freshmen year, then I decided to bring a bag lunch. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good, either.
15. Most hilarious school rule?: No standing in the halls during passing periods.
16. Wore uniforms?: No.
17. How was the prom?: They were pretty fun. Junior year was a lot of fun, because everybody in our group was pretty much going with someone else from the group. It was a nice, friendly group get-together. Senior prom was fun, but kinda weird; with a few exceptions, EVERYBODY in the senior class took a junior. I don’t know, it was kinda funny how that all turned out.
18. Who was prom king and queen?: I think it was Jess Rossman and Ben Bailey
19. Any achievements?:
national honor society (president of), tri-m music honor society, Spanish nat'l honor society, ss honor society, Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, Harvard Book Award, Granite State Challenge team.
20. Were you popular?: I’d say I was popular, but not "popular", meaning I had friends, but I didn’t drive a Honda civic hatchback with a big muffler thing to make the car sound less like a go cart, and more like a real car.
21. Best song that reminds you of high school?: Billy Joel's "piano man". Remember Jeff Leroy playing it at the Pop’s concerts. So Awesome.
22. Unforgettable high school crush?: Didn’t really have one.
23. Most embarrassing moment?: Probably fainting at Band camp senior year.
24. Memory you'd like to forget about high school?: Canada trip, junior year. Story: So we’re supposed to go to florida, to march at Main St. USA in Disney world, but Sept. 11 happens, and the travel agency tells us that IF THERE IS ANOTHER TERRORIST ATTACK that disrupts our trip, they couldn’t refund all of the money. So a good deal of the (parents of the) students back out of the trip, and we end up leaving the country (WTF?!), playing at a band festival in Montreal in which we were the only band playing, and getting a silver rating. Haha. Oh yeah, everything about the trip went wrong too. Worst week ever.
25. Best memory?: Last quarter of senior year. Probably chillin with MattyD and Rilo on the set of the Musical. God, that was awesome.
26. Any regrets?: Not doing more theater, and less band.
27. Would you like your "future child" to attend your high school?: No, because the experience really wasn’t that special.
28. Were the bathrooms clean?: I went into the bathrooms a grand total of 5 times…maybe…in four years.
29. How were the lunch ladies?: Nice.
30. Lyrics would best describe your high school life?:
They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something's better
On the other side
I wanna run through the halls of my high school
I wanna scream at the
Top of my lungs
Yeah, thinking of that stuff made me happy and sad. Thinking of the Canada made me immediately pissed off again, with fury and rage seen only by the Men of Gondor. Haha, that was the worst week of high school. Ever.
But this quiz also let me think of the good times in high school. It was the first time in a LOOOOONG TIME that I had thought of the behind the scenes work at Oklahoma. With Josh, and Matt, those were the absolute best of times. And Matt's "stunt" before the last show. AHAHA x 10^30. Oh. My. God. I have never, EVER, laughed so hard for so long. Woo. My God, we must raise our cans of AMP energy drink to toast to those good times. *clinky*
