Wah... you guys all asking me about presents. :P Sorry I think I only have limited amount of food. D: I see what I can do when I meet you. Remember I was on the road to bankruptcy. D: But I made it back with ... 1000 yen in my pocket! Hahaha.
Okay onto report! I hope I remember as much as possible. No photos yet! That will come later!
[EDIT]
I realised I have thousands of spelling errors. Because I typed this in one go and I'm still pretty tired. forgive me!
[/EDIT]
- Japan's summer is crazy! It is warm like hell. If you think Singapore is bad, wait till you go through Japan's summer. Although the weather is similiar, it is stuffier? And the sun is scorching? Man, I got a tan for goodness sake. D: To survive Japan's summer you need vending machines, sun block and uchiwa! They give alot of free uchiwa here as advertisements so you don't have to worry about that! *lol*
- Peilin! Your umbrella! Gave us so much trouble! *LOL* I will let Lynn do the honours for that.
- It is amazing how the Japanese can wear so many layers on such a terribly warm weather!!! Really!
- While we are there, the Yamanote line was down for an hour because lightning striked the tracks. Then the whole of Chiba went into a black out the day after we left. (Summer Sonic was in Chiba) because of a crane ruining the overhead cables. There was a whole big discussion about Japan without electricity will she survive or something. o_O
- We had flash rains on the last day. It rained for about 10 mins. Then the sun came out and it rained again! The cycle simply repeats D:
- I find it amusing that people keep thinking we are Japanese. It is quite annoying when it happens once too many times.
- Lynn can recognise Tegoshi, Kame, KAT-TUN and Nagase. Nagase's "My Boss My Hero" drama is damn funny lah. Must find the torrent.
- Girls in yukata are really cute. Guys in yukata are very charming. hahahahha.I also want oneeeeee.
- Alice nine was amazing. They are marvellous and I can see why so many people fell in love with them. Including me. Summer Sonic is a once in a lifetime experience. The only thing that I felt sad for the performancers is that no one really understooded their jokes. :(
-This trip was a very special trip for both Lynn and I. Because it was a chance for us to actually meet the bands, and hear the bands live, bands that meant alot to us. I don't know if anyone can understand what I mean, but if you do, I appreciate it. :) It was such an amazing experience filled with sweat, tears and laughter. :D
We took a very early morning flight to Narita on a Northwest plane. The seats overall is very comfy to me. Importantly was... leg space!!! There was enough and I was contented with it. :D We sat next to Caucasian couple who was heading back to the States. The guy was really funny attempting to play the game that involved mahjong tiles. :D
We reached Narita and headed to Takadanobaba (omg I remembered?!) to find our Ryokan. The map is wrong in perspective!!! It looked so near but it was pretty far off. =_= I was worried that I got the directions wrong, but when I spotted the Wendy's, I was relieved! The ryokana was cosy and comfortable. But I suppose the upstairs room were nicer. But living at the downstairs room had its good points. We had our own toilet and the shower room was pretty close without having the need to climb the terrible stairs! The owner of the ryokan, Eiko-san, had two fattttttttttttt cats!!! They are really fattttttttttttttt. Hahhaa.
We headed to Ikebukuro after dinner at a Udon place near our ryokan. Headed to the Sanrio shop to help Lynn's friend get some Hello Kitty things. We had this lucky draw thing, and it was a HUGE tatami cushion. =_= We nearly died at the thought of bringing it back. Headed to Animate and bought stuff for the asterisk people. D: (<--- first day and we spent so much already. D:) Went to Mandarake and surprise, I only bought two doujinshi! One Naruto and one hp and we are off back to the ryokan!
We headed down to Shinjuku first to Studio Alta to get the doll stuff. But the place wasn't open yet, hence we headed to OiOne to only realised they were not opened yet. =_= So we walked further down somemore to find Kinokuniya! We browsed there for a while to escape the heat and headed back to OiOne. =_= We started from the top level down and I had my first expensive purchase there. I bought a Black Peace Now pants. *dies* Lynn was resisting the Emily Temple skirt. After that we bought doll stuffs for those who requested. After much Engrish and hand signals, I got most of the stuff.
We headed to Harajuku then, first a visit to Meiji Jingu then to collect tickets for summer sonic, Laforet etc etc. This was about two hours before the alice nine concert and I was nervous like hell. =_=
So at 4.30, we decided we should head to Shibuya-AX since the tour merchandise starts selling at 4pm. We walked and I spotted alice nine cosplayers! We simply followed them to AX since I wasn't familiar with the place.
When we reached there, omg, I was blown away by the amount of people there. D: In fact, I say most of them were girls. D: I was nervous like hell. hahaha. My ticket number was A593 so I had to wait for quite a while before going in, and wait for quite a while before the concert started. I bought the tour pamphlet, towel and handphone strap. The tee-shirt this time wasn't nice?! D: So I didn't buy it. D:
Went in and I was really really nervous. I stood where Shou would have stood. Wah *dies* All I could think was "OMG I'M GOING TO SEE THEM". Then there this girl who stood next to me started talking to me. I told her I was from Singapore and my Japanese isn't very good. But we had a small convo about who we like (I like Shou, she likes Hiroto), about this is my first alice nine live and how I came to Japan just to see them. Then... they appeared. *________*
Nao came out first, followed by Hiroto and Tora, then Saga (who was very pretty in real!!) and finally Shou. They started with Kowloon-Nine Heads Rodeo Show- and everyone moved to the front. I just stood there staring at Shou. I felt like crying because, it was really him standing in front of me. The girl I spoke to earlier grabbed my hand in case I got pulled away. I can't remember the set list, I'm pretty terrible at remembering such things, all I know the girl just kept asking if I was alright after a song. It was so sweet of her. Everytime there was a headbang, everyone around would say "sumimasen" to each other. There was this girl, she went to wipe our (the nice girl and my) forehead! It was terrible amusing.
They performed one song where everyone shook their heads. I think I was in shock or in awe because I was simply standing there still staring at Shou and he pointed at me! (AT ME!) Asking me to shake my head too? I believed my whole face turned red at this point of time. Or I could have died on the spot.
The whole experience was amazing. The MCs were really really funny. I love Nao to bits now! Hiroto as Doremon (and me peeking at him and getting caught by him D:), Shou being corny! ("今日は暑いですね。" "暑い!" "あ...私も暑いね!") XD, Tora and the super low microphone and Saga and his mom! It was really amazing just standing there listening to them. They played Dead School Screaming, Fantasy (I nearly cried cos it is one of my favourite songs), Shunkashuutou (春夏秋冬), Yami ni Chiru Sakura (闇ニ散ル桜), Akai Kazaguruma, Q., their two new songs Number Six and Blue Planet (by Tora!) and ended with Heisei juunana nen shichigatsu nanoka (平成十七年七月七日) before the encore. During Akai Kazaguruma, the fans held hands and swayed to the music. There was this two lines that Shou made us sing over and over again. The whole band stopped playing and all there was, was the voices of the fans singing that two lines over and over again in perfect harmony. That was simply amazing. I think it touched them pretty much as well. They came back with the encores and ended with Velvet. I nearly cried as well because, it is their last song afterall. And that was all I was going to see/hear of them live. I practically rushed to meet Lynn at Harajuku station so that I can cry. =________=
The live was such an amazing experience for me. To be able see them, hear them and sing with them was amazing. The fans were really nice like most lives reports I read for alice nine lives. The actions and the consideration makes me feel so welcomed I guess, especially when I'm a foreign fan in the midst of the Japanese fans? *lol* The only thing that really made the live a bit annoyed is the headbanging part. I heard headbangings are tough in vk lives, but to go through this is annoying? The back row girls were jumping into the girls in front of them during the headbangs, causing the girls in the front of be unstable or fall? There are several times when there were fans almost falling or got injured. Is this the norm for alice nine lives or in fact any vk live? o_O I'm not sure if Shou noticed this because after a couple of this er.. jumping-headbang-things, he started to give us more instructions during the songs and tend to avoid headbanging? (Which I'm grateful, really!) Or either that, the girls got tired? It was kinda scary experience for me. I thought I would get bruises at my back!
We went to Asakusa first to only find out it it very tourist-fied. D: Then we headed down to Tokyo Big Sight to take a look a Comiket. We were suppose to meet Shannen but she didn't make it in the end. So we just walked around ourselves. It was another of those, "how to go? never mind follow the crowd!" thing. But the weather turned bad and it started pouring really heavy. This in turn, didn't allow the cosplayers to have their public display. :( We got lost in wondering what to do because there was people everywhere and anywhere. So we parked at this place to see the cosplayers walk by. And to tell you, we are very inspired. :D We just sat there and going "wahhh" at the cosplayers. I think we scared a young!sora cosplayer. hahha. We walked around and realised there was also and event at TFT!!! (The ming fu qi shi TFT hall!) The first cosplayer we saw was Rabi and Linalee!! OMG The Rabi was terrific!!! I wanted to take a photo to only be stopped by the person in charge saying that photographers have to pay 2500 yen?! Cosplayers pay 1500 yen. If we knew, we would just bring our simplest costume and cosplay. :( I bet Kanata was inside. So we stood at the opposite building and attempted to take photos across. And oh! I spotted Kame and Yamapi cosplayers? D: They were taking photos of each other. D: Kame was in Nobuta o Produce and Yamapi was in the Daite Senorita image when the mic stand fell. KAKAKAKA. XD
Oh oh! Shuui! XD WE MET YOUR OU XIANGGGGGGG. They were walking around so I didn't get a chance to ask them for photos. They were cosplaying Ishida and Ichigo. :P Tell you more on msn.
After the rejected TFT event, we left for Shibuya because I wanted to get a magazine from HMV to only find out that the Yamanote line was down! D: The tracks got struck by lightning or something so the train can't work. D: It was pure chaos, especially at Shibuya area. We stayed at Shibuya until the whole mess was over. And in the end, I didn't get my magazine but bought another one that featured alice nine. =_____= I'm a sucker for alice nine.
I was telling Lynn that they should have Autumn Sonic instead because it was bloody hot! I got a tan from this event. And a major headache. Almost went broke on tour merchandise (kakakaka) and pocari sweat.
Summer Sonic is a alternative rock music festival that is held in Japan every year? D: (Just think of Baybeats but 100 times bigger.) We stayed at the Marine Stage because it is too far to go the other stages. There was only one performance that we wanted to go in the other stage and that was for Fort Minor. But we gave it a missed instead. So we stayed at the Marine Stage.
We started with Ellegarden! We didn't know how Ellegarden sounded or look like but when we saw the queue at the merchandise booth for Ellegarden, we knew they had to be good. So we decided to attend their performance and man, they were good! They are a Japanese band that sings, perfect and sensible english songs! We were so impressed. :D
The next performance was All American Rejects. They were damn funny! The drummer went to paste the word ばか on the drums? Crazy. The lead singer was hilarious. He wanted knew that the audience was warm and requested for some water to hose us (they do that between breaks) and said "MIZU KUDASAI!", in a very American slang of course. Then he wanted to hose the audience himself and asked the hose-guy to pass him the hose. One of the other members began to say, "Just give the man the f*cking hose! NONO He doesn't want to be f*cking hosed!" Until they realised, "Hey I think we have a language barrier here." It was really funny! But you gotta be there to see it. The only minus part is their time slot. The heat at 1.10pm killed me pretty much.
The next one was Fall Out Boys. I'm not very familiar with them, but the bass is pretty cute. Hahaha. But Lynn is crazy for them and now I know that the lead singer's name is basically PMS. D:
We skipped Lost Prophets for a rest and more MIZU. *dies* Then we headed back for........ My Chemical Romance.
I cannot tell you how warm I feel for them!!! All black!! Anyway Gerald Way looks spanking cool with his new hair and Lynn will start swooning at that image again. I love their performance. It was amazing! And I think we looked like two mad women singing and laughing in the crowd because we understooded all their jokes. There was this Japanese guy beside me who simply followed what we did because I think he realised he was standing next to two girls who knew what's going on. *lol*
We headed to the stands for Muse because my head can't take any more jumping and Lynn's feet were dying. We were not very keen on Muse because well, Muse on my computer or iPod didn't sound very impressive. But wow, Muse live simply blew us away. The fanbase for Muse in Japan in nuts I tell you, because the whole mosh pit was filled to the brim. If you didn't like Muse, you need to watch them live. If you love Muse, you MUST watch them live. It was an amazing performance. I have new found respect for them.
The last performance was.. Linkin Park! (I'm sorry Ko! I don't remember the set list!) Chester seems to be sounding better than before! I think he recovered quite a bit. They played a couple of their Meteora songs, but they played mostly from Hybrid Theory. And Ko... let me tell you something. THEY PLAYED A NEW SONG. THEY HAVE A NEW SONG!!!! They said they are working on a new album. OMG SO EXCITING. For encore they did the ususal Crawling. But this time round, they did something very special. They had acoustic versions of Breaking the Habit and another song. This time, you can really tell Chester's voice is stronger. Wow. I really wished you were there Ko!!!!
Our free day. We decided to sleep in and then shop for things. This is a aimless and bad day because we walked around buying things. =_= Just buying. My money flew to a Vivienne Westwood Cardigan. *dies* Lynn's money flew to a Banana Fish teeshirt and bags and many many gifts. Hahaha. I also bought A-sama's present here. XD Hehehehehhe We came back to Harajuku to get it okay! So A! You better appreciate.
We did some last minute shopping near our Ryokan. 100 yen shop and all. We need to stop because we kept buying things. This is ridiculous. =_= We had a chance to talk to the boy who works in the Ryokana. Brian, an American who works in a Japanese Ryokan. I thought it was pretty funny. But he is a very nice guy! He even carried our luggage to the train station for us! I felt so touched. Then we headed to Narita to only know Japan's NWA is crazy. Ridiculously long queues and surprisingly still managed to fly off in time.
So that's about it. *sigh* And I miss alice nine already. This is crazy.
