So I've been thinking lately and I want input. What is home? What makes a location a home exactly? Home tends to mean permanence and stability. But do we really have any of that? Any of us could be sent home at a moments notice and never some back. And for ( Read more... )

[Haku knows it's you, Jake. She knows, and even though she is afraid of you and still angry at what happened, she feels compelled to answer anyway.]

I found my family here. This is home. More than that other place will ever be home. If I had to go back, I don't know what I would do.

Home is where you feel the best, where you know you're loved no matter what, regardless of where that place is.

About being a family? Yes. About going back? I don't know. I might be the only one that feels this way, but I have my reasons.

My home is where I go to sleep at night! And Mommy and Daddy are here to tuck me in ...

I've had many homes and none of them have been permanent or stable. It never bothered me though. Life in general has never been stable in my opinion.

A place where you can feel safe is what I consider home.

Oh that one's easy.

Home's what you well make of it. Sure, I don't get a bitching wizard's tower in the Netherworld here, but I can still find things to make a life with. Thinking too much beyond that's just crazy.

Alright. So how do you make a place a home then?

Well that's a little more complex. It starts with an environment that's comfortable to you - where you can do your work, if you don't keep a separate workplace.
