Is so fucking awesome.
He played Huck Finn in the original production of Big River (for which he was nominated for Best Actor, the Tony for which was given to the guy who played Jim), starred in Big, played Mark Twain and the voice of Huck Finn in the Deaf West Revival of Big River which remains to this day the most phenomenal production I have seen in my entire life, and was the first replacement for Stephen Spinella as Prior in Angels in America. In-fucking-credible.
I worked on a show he co-wrote with Robert Stanton (who is also completely awesome in every way) and the two of them performed it as a special presentation this past weekend. (The stage manager, who I hope to work with again this season, worked at Berkeley Rep as an ASM for a long time after being an intern for a season... she worked on the Berkeley Rep production of Laramie!!!) Anyways, Love Child, their performance, is one of the funniest shows ever, and the guys are incredible. I got to work with them and sitting in rehearsal was fantastic. And they are soooooo nice. I said goodbye to them last night after seeing the show, and Dan kissed me on the cheek and gave me a hug... oh man. :-D!!!!!
