What is this crazy, sickening, awesome thing known as "high school"? The place where kids hold hands and give quick kisses in the hallways, oblivious to what anything really means. And where we learn what we will become when we grow up, and where we lose what we thought we were.

It's enough to make my head spin.

you know, i don't think everyone is "oblivious to what anything really means." i think most are more aware than they'd often care to admit. perhaps it would be more on track to say that they choose to ignore the inherent meaning.

that being said, i think that "the place... where we learn what we will become... and where we lose what we thought we were" is a beyond-accurate description of high school, whether it be the physical location or the place in time/in our lives
