It's the Law

I'm a substitute receptionist this week at the law firm this guy from church has and it has been...a...zzzzzzzzzzzzz.blazzzzzzt. Just kidding; it's been a little interesting. I just got a phone call from someone asking if "Someone-eh, espeak-eh, espanol" and I said, "Lo siento; no hablo espanol," to which she replied, rather hesitantly, "Eh...okay." I really didn't mean to be bad about that. "Lo siento, no hablo espanol" is honestly the only Spanish I know, despite the fact I took five years of IB Spanish. Oh wait, duh, it was IB; of course I didn't really learn anything.

By the way, here's some legal advise in the form of a short play:
Me: [Phone rings] Good morning, [firm partners' names].
Dumbass: Uh, yeah, I went to court this morning and the judge said we had to come back at 2 if we was pleading guilty.
Me: Uh-huh, okay?
Dumbass: So am I suppose' to go back to court at 2?
Me: Are you pleading guilty?
Dumbass: Uuhh, yeah...
Me: Hmm...Well, I'm pretty sure that you're supposed to go back to court.
Dumbass: Well, could I speak to [lawyer] to make sure?
Me: [Sigh] I'll put you in his voicemail.

And that's what's up at the temporary job.
