no class for me tonight, so i made a short list of things to accomplish and then decided instead to go set up my tripod and mess around taking silly portraits of myself. i at least tried to do some different angles and whatnot. i feel like everything i take of myself always looks the same, and i know i can't use the excuse of "it's too hard to take my own pic" cause a couple people on Flickr (like the lovely Kaat) have shown me that it's quite possible to take creative, varied photos of yourself.

so anyway, these are fairly boring i guess (and not so great, composition-wise... i couldn't really tell how things would look til after the fact) so i at least tried doing various edits (cool vs. warm). i like both for their own reasons.

i used to almost always err on the side of warm, but after lots of experimenting with the Selective Colors menu, i think i've kinda come to like the cooler version for someone like myself, having extremely pale skin and light colored eyes

*shrug*

i also threw this set together on Flickr of random photos of me. yeah, i don't even know why.

let's backtrack a bit though. Friday night we'd planned on going to the Cartier store in King of Prussia to get my ring resized but then realized we didnt have enough time. i then suggested going out to Carrabbas since i'd been craving pizza all day, and their type is actually not too bad, health-wise. so that was a fun night :) we rented Dan in Real Life and fell asleep watching it.

we then moved the Cartier expedition to Saturday morning. they hope to have the ring back to me within a week. aw, my finger feels so bare. from there we went to Subway for lunch & i dropped Cory off @ work with his folding bike cause he wanted to ride home. i then had to go play @ Italian Affair since Chris couldnt be there. went back to Cory's afterwards... had a small salad, an english muffin pizza and a couple mini pierogies (i accidentally bought the mini kind and i'm glad i did because they are absolutely adorable). forget what else happened?

Sunday morning.. woke up & finished Dan in Real Life. it was cute, albeit hard to watch at times with how much Steve Carrell's character makes an ass of himself. the ending was a little cheesy and predictable. ah well. i then proceeded to hang around Cory's apartment all day and be a total lazy ass. the only productive thing i did was finish My Friend Leonard, which was excellent. i'd felt bad for not being home in a couple days so it was my idea for us to meet my parents at this cool Hibachi place in Glassboro where we had a yummy dinner cooked right in front of us. we'll definitely have to go back. Cory managed to drink about 3/4 of a bottle of wine by himself and was thusly drunk and extremely funny. i drove us back and well.... it was an interesting (and very entertaining) night.

and that brings me to today, back at Monday, back to work. at least it's a short week - half day Wednesday, then off from Thursday to Monday. wish i could go down to FL but oh well... there will be other times!

ok thats enough for now.

i.a., movies, books, photography, food, cory
