purchased yesterday:
(came with free 1 gig card. word)
external hard drive - 250 gigs - comes to just about $80 once i do the rebate. can't beat that with a stick...
(oh & get this... the thing apparently automatically turns on & off with your computer... how great is that??)
heels by Marc Fisher that look *something* like this (can't find them on the site since the actual ones i got were..).. on sale for $35! scorrrre (esp. since they were originally much more than that)
yeah i don't know.... something like that... pretty substantial heel and somewhere in between pointed & rounded toe. theyre cute/fun
aaaand then these Steve Madden flats. i couldnt decide if they were cute or corny (corny as in trying too hard to be hippie/bohemian/etc). wasnt sure, so i actually took a pic of one on my foot with my cell and sent it to my sister & mom asking for an opinion. mom wrote back right away saying "def. cute" and Cris took awhile to respond (right as i was leaving the mall.. of course :P) saying she wasnt sure and that it might be hard to find stuff to match. *shrug*
i've been meaning to go get some flats, so that's a start. those caught my attn, so yeah. maybe i'll find some other simple black ones or something. anyway so then i went to C's after all that spending, at which point we depart for Manayunk where i meet up with Kristen & Kate (college friends). i figured eh, why not wear the new shoes (the flats)? they even kinda matched the top i had on. of course i somehow failed to realize we'd be walking around extremely icy/snowy & somewhat steep streets, and said shoes have just about NO tread on the bottom/arent exactly the warmest. stupid stupid stupid. i didnt fall or anything, but my feet were cold (yeah, definitely stepped in snow... good job!!) and i kept feeling like i was about to slip. yeah, i'm smart. it was a fun night though. we all met at the Grape Street Pub (had been there before). there was a DJ in one room playing dance/club kinda stuff & a band in the other. i was still not feeling so good due to this dumb cold that i'm trying to kick, so the beer that i had tasted extremely bland. then we went back to Cory's friend Mike's place that is a couple blocks away... watched SNL, i had a Smirnoff something-or-other that was black cherry flavored? (hadnt eaten anything since 2:30pm)... and then they were playing the new Nintendo Wii thing... amusing. finally left about 2:30am. me = tired. i feel a little better today, i guess. last night i took like 3 or 4 medicinally-related things just about simultaneously. awesome.
anyway. maybe i'll attempt the gym... and then who knows what later. lovely. glad i can play music somewhat loud through these speakers, or else itd be reallllllly quiet/lonely in here.
OH YEAH and i have to write about the whole thermostat thing. its hilarious, really. i'll do that later.
p.s.- check out this group (err.. duo) called Talkdemonic... really lovely stuff. i mean cmon, check out the album covers... they pretty much say it all......
cool, no?
Amazon.com's description: "Talkdemonic melds the primal, the classical and the modern to create songs that are as sweeping in scope as they are shattering in intensity. The band calls its music "folktronic hop," and has created a fan base on a national level sans the help of any sort of distribution - a fan base that grows with each performance as spectators witness Talkdemonic's ability to capture the most human emotions with only drums, viola and an iBook. Mutiny Sunshine is a wonder of Kevin O'Connor's meticulous mind, featuring a sweeping orchestra of instruments - humming synth lines, plaintive acoustic guitar, dead-steady programmed beats, mournful concertina and soaring viola all tethered by O'Connor's drumming and the enchanting string orchestrations of Lisa Molianaro."
YUM
2 albums just might be able to be found
here.....
Beat RomanticMutiny Sunshine both released last year. excellent to just chill/space out to. mmm. not everyone's bag, but i enjoy it *shrug*
