I've upgraded it - but yeah, its only ritual sacrifices that keep it running.

I got a free one that i just haven't gotten around to setting up yet. I gotta do that eventually.

160 gigs? dayum :P i currently have 40 on this thing and have only 7ish left (hmm i guess 7ish gigs of music, and a lot of photos, some of which come from an 8 megapixel camera don't quite help). and the one i have now has 256 memory and practically everything that's coming out today is 512. plus the one i'm thinking of getting has expandable memory so i could make it realllly fast if i wanted.. but i think 512 would be fine. hmm

i had two 20 gig hard drives and they were constantly full. w/ all the photo and graphic design stuff i do, i had to get a new one. i do need new memory, though. and my cd burner needs to be fixed. but i build this machine at dell and it has been great. though i will get a mac at some point in the next few years.

Hah, I'm so inconsistent with money. I would say "buy" but I know I probably wouldn't lol

It's not bad. I'm not too keen on the Celeron processor though. It's fine for most purposes, but if you do anything processor intensive (i.e. multimedia stuff) it can tax it. So I've been suckered in to the hype, but I'd recommend a Pentium M processor.

Dell has a similarly configured system for $849, shipping extra, I think, with a Pentium M processor:

Put in an 80GB HD and a DVD burner, then use coupon code Z5HJTRN9M8LPDB at checkout for $300 off.

my eyes caught the word "taipei" before i got there, and i was really excited. then, i read the sentence that it was just a game and was slightly disappointing. lol.

like kristen, i can be very inconsistent about buying stuff. like lately i was doing a whole lot of research about digital cameras, but then i went ahead to get my old one fixed. i was also thinking about getting a more powerful palm/pocket pc with wifi. we'll see if i end up getting that...
