[Instructor]: "She asks, 'Are you American?'"

(pause for me to attempt to translate the phrase)

[Instructor]: "He says, 'Yes, I'm American'"

(pause)

[Instructor]: "She says, 'give me ten dollars, please'"

(pause)

[Instructor]: "He says, 'I don't have any dollars.'"

(pause}

[Instructor]: "She asks, 'you don't have any dollars?'"

(pause)

[Instructor]: "She says, 'You're not American.'"
