(no subject)
Wow, what a great weekend - what a shame I have to be back at work.
I didn't even really spend any time online this weekend. Friday, I left Rhode Island for New Jersey at around 3. We stopped at Wal Mart on the way down because I planned to do some fishing, and since my father took all my fishing gear with him to Florida when he moved, I had to replace it. Got a nice Ugly Stik for about $20 (with reel and tackle), plus an assortment of tackle (nice and inexpensive there) and other gear, including a big tackle bag from Rapala.
We got to NJ at about 7, and went right to :G:'s softball practice. I got eaten alive by mosquitoes, but it wasn't too bad. Then it was home to dinner and relaxation, and eventually passing out in bed. (I had a loooooong, excruciatingly annoying week at work, so I was beat.)
Saturday in the morning we headed to a friend's to shower since :F:'s bathroom is being renovated, then we went to :G:'s softball game. (They kicked butt! PWN.) Afterwards, it was back to :F:'s for a cookout and fishing. I took :G: and our friend's son fishing across the street, and caught a few perch. We just had a great night after that, on the deck, enjoying the thunderstorm and food, and we just laughed and had a great time.
Sunday I got up at 7 to head out to Swartswood Lake (both big and small ones) on a friend's boat. We didn't catch anything (except sunburn), but I had a nice time just drifting out there. Remember, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work! Then I took :F: and :G: bowling, and our friends came along. I couldn't believe how expensive bowling is now. It used to be $2/line, now it's $4.50. Amazing. Anyway, that was a lot of fun, too. I haven't gone in such a long time that the muscles used were sore the next morning, but it was totally enjoyable and worth it. I may pick up my own ball and shoes again. Anyway, we had another cookout and everyone fished again across the street, catching sunfish and a crappy.
Yesterday I had the day off, but work kept calling me all day, so it kind of ruined it. We just hung out at the house lazily, but I'd had a pretty full weekend. It sucked having to come home.
Soon that will end. I love the time I spend with :F:, as we're both attuned to the same energy levels at the same time and enjoy the same things. And in less than a month, there won't be any more figuring out what to do week to week about seeing each other. And the life we'll live will be nice and just what I want.
