There's no happy medium in my school among most kids, and this is due to the way the school system is set up. You're either smart enough to be in AP, or you're stupid and the kids that are in the middle either study like hell to keep up with the AP or say "Fuck this" and drop down with everyone else. It's not their fault; it's because an A in a regualr class means suddenly that you should take honors classes. There's a lot of pressure there.

I can see good arguments for WHY pot should be legal (but no offense; I'm not budging on this after my cousin and I won't even debate it much because I hate debating because I'm a terrible arguer and usually just give in.), but the fact that the only arguments anyone you'll ask in my environment will offer give them excuses to be potheads.

Also, people are intelligent (truly, they are) but in virtually the last two years there has been a DRAMATIC decrease in focus and caring about schoolwork or anything other than the immediate future. Teachers are noticing it. And it would so help me if teachers stopped TELLING us that we were just dumb. Those of us who care then dig our own graves other anything other than an A because everyone tells us "Oh this is nothing compared to what it USED to be".
