why I fail at shopping
bugger.
I thought I made a semi-rash 3am purchase a week or so ago - wrote down an order number and everything! - but never got the follow-up email confirming it, nor any shipping info, charges to my bank car, or anything else. I could have emailed the place I ordered from, I suppose, but man oh man, that would have made sense. Since I did actually kind of order it with a specific purpose in mind, but did not need that SPECIFIC yarn for said purpose, I started poking around at other stuff and found cute stuff in the right colour for a better price on ebay.

of course, of ABSOLUTE COURSE, I got the email saying I won the yarn auction about 20 seconds AFTER I got an email about the first order. which will be shipped tomorrow.
oh, grand.
so, now a $35 purchase that became a $20 purchase has become a $55 purchase, and I'll be stuck with far, far more stuff than I will ever need for this project - nearly 3x too much, in fact.
