ok....back in the "real world" I am HOME in BRISBANE!
things make sense here
here are a few rules for doing FIFO jobs
take a CD or MP3, cos there is NO radio worth listening to while driving...I was stuck listening to radio austalia, all talk radio, the programme was talking about arson (being bushfire season here) and the psychological states in different developmental stages that lead to the propensity to light fires, from a criminollogical perspective. Normally something I would be interested in but not while screaming headlong down the warrego highway. The other choice was opera, also something I love but unsuitable for that drive.
DO NOT start crying when you hear bad news about a friend and you are in this outback town where "people round here don't cry"
do not eat takeaway
realise you WILL be sitting next to a smely smoker on the plane so deal with it
have a good imagination to survive the flight and take a book.
