The long story short is that, of all the places on Earth to call out to me, Brissy's at the top of the list, even precedent to NYC (the place of my birth).
I've been coy about actually working out whether or not I'm onto something, much less finding out how capable I am (per immigration laws and job markets) of answering that call to the tune of anything fancier than a vacation.
And before you ask, it mystifies me, too. The Wikipedia says that southeast Queensland has a climate not unlike Florida's, a thought that makes me wilt just by crossing my mind. And the same source suggests that Brisbane has a reputation elsewhere in Australia for having a great deal more flash than substance. That gives me a second reason to wonder if I'm crazy. (To date, I've lived in places which, for the most part, are much the opposite.)
But it is what it is in the face of good reason, not unlike my fondness for tinned sardines.
...So if I'm gonna stop being coy, then following the LJ of someone FROM Brisbane might make a good first step.
