My cousin Steve - my grandmother's nephew and my cousin - is in the hospital. He's had a massive stroke and they can't get the bleeding in his brain stopped.
It all started off as a headache yesterday, and they ended up taking him to the hospital. At first he'd just had a mild stroke and they were trying to prevent a more severe one, but they couldn't operate and a stent and drugs to break up the clot are doing no good.
It's all a scary sort of deja-vu, because about fifteen to twenty years ago his younger sister Linda went to the hospital with a bad headache. She'd had multiple aneurisms, so many that the doctors said it was a miracle that she survived. She made a full recovery, though...
All I can do is just hope, at this point... Hope for another miracle. It's just like a bad flashback to last year, to my grandfather and to my Uncle Bill - but they were in their eighties. Not 45.
He's my grandmother's favourite, too, even though aunts aren't supposed to have favourites (she totally does).
Please think of my family. Please hope for some sort of recovery for his wife and their two children.
