So amazing what the power of the people can accomplish. Let's just hope that they can make their way forward from here and not end up with an even more corrupt leader in place. Let's just hope that the deaths that have happened have not been in vain.
Let's just hope that US politicians back up their pretty speeches by actually supporting the movement for change, since they've spent the last few years supporting Mubarak and his reign of power. (Not that there's been a single mention of that on screen, from what I can tell... Just in the NYTimes and elsewhere.) There's been a lot of scrambling behind scenes the last few weeks, even if it's seemingly been all about supporting the Egyptian people. This could potentially lead to a big shake-up in power in the region, not just Egypt, and it's going to affect US relations with a lot of countries there.
For once I am watching CNN, because the scenes on screen are amazing.
