That is why people like the man who killed Dr. George Tiller scare me. Because there is nothing scarier than a person who devoutly, completely believes that they are doing the right thing. That sort of person will do their best to overwhelm any obstacles in their path, and they will show absolutely no remorse for what they do.
George Tiller was shot once in the head. There was no wild shooting, there was probably no hesitation, no emotional outbursts. Just one shot. And it left a man dead.
I know that other more intelligent, eloquent people have spoken out about this, but this has been in the back of my head since yesterday. Because the people who commit crimes like this? They truly, truly believe that murdering one person is worth it, if the supposed slaughter of babies is stopped. The danger of these people should not and cannot be underestimated. You can hear it already in the quotes and articles spreading across the net, and personally, I hold every person who does not decry what Tiller's accused killer did complicit in his murder. Because if you are not against something like this, you support it.
People like this will stop at nothing. They will persist and take every loophole and inch of ground that they gain and they will press forward until they win, and if they do, women will no longer have control of their bodies, will no longer have access to birth control or abortion.
