mixed blessings
My cat has discovered that she can get more attention off me when I'm sitting at my computer if she hops up on my lap. The problem is that she isn't the kind of cat who can sit in one place and purr while being petted occasionally. She prowls, kneads, and bites any wrist she finds that's not actively petting her. This makes productivity (and in fact, non-productive typing) difficult.
