Salman Rushdie came to the U to speak this week. SALMAN freaking RUSHDIE, and I couldn't see him because his speech happened while I was in class. I'm so mad about that.
On the other hand, I did get to see Stanley Prusiner. I'm hard-pressed to say which of them is cooler, so I'm going to call it a toss up. I imagine (hope) that Salman Rushdie is a better speaker. On the other hand, he bears no apparent resemblance to Bilbo Baggins.
