when people post photos of themselves and someone else and say, "[person's name] and i." it should be "[person's name] and me."
if you were posting a photo of yourself alone, you wouldn't say "i", you would say "me". i see this CONSTANTLY on facebook (where i've been spending too much time.)
anyway, i think people do it because they think it sounds correct and saying "and me" sounds wrong, but it's not in this instance. if you're unsure about "i" vs. "me", just remove the other person's name.
examples:
"mary and i went to the store." correct
"mary and me went to the store." incorrect
why? if you removed mary, "i went to the store" is accurate. "me went to the store" is not.
"steve saw mary and me at the store." correct
"steve saw mary and i at the store." incorrect
why? if you removed mary, "steve saw me at the store" is accurate. "steve saw i at the store" is not.
and don't even get me started on "mary and myself". i have a certain ex who felt the need to talk like that all the time. "if you have a problem, see mary or myself." once again, take out the "mary" and see if it makes sense. it doesn't. i don't understand why reflexive pronouns present such a problem to people.
