While I'm well aware that petitions unfortunately rarely have the desired effect, some causes are worth every small effort.
As I'm sure most of you are aware, the U.S. Government has moved forward with plans to open up the Alaskan reserves for leasing to oil companies. Unfortunately, many of these areas also double as wildlife protection habitats. Now, the Teshekpuk Lake special area is being opened for 100% leasing to ConocoPhillips -- to be filled with a network of drill points, mobility infrastructure, airports, and more.
