Dearest Jack
Below is a letter ro Rep. Jack Brandenburg (R) Harrison Twp, on the issue of 'Angels in America' and Saginaw Valley State Univeristy. Enjoy.
To my slightly crazed friend Jack Brandenburg,
I find your attacks on Saginaw Valley State University
to be out of line. As a gay youth, a person with a
love for the arts, and an actual resident of the
Saginaw Valley, and most of all an American who
believes in freedom of speech you should be ashamed of
your calls to have Eric Gilberston removed from office
and to cut funding to the fine state institution that
Saginaw Valley is.
You didn't need to agree with the topics in Angels in
America, or see the play, which I would doubt that did
because you live so far away in Harrison Twp, but you
as a state representative have the responsibility of
upholding my right and the rights of the public to see
Angels in America if we so desire.
Finally I believe that there are enough issues that
involve your constituents in the Macomb County area
that you don't need to interfere with the life of the
residents of the Saginaw Valley.
