I mostly just did it for the pictures, and to show people that I listened to lots of things, but that most of it were things I probably shouldn't have heard. Islands is good, maybe not as good as I made it sound. David left another comment about it farther down with which I agree also. I mean, the songs are a lot more expansive than with the Unicorns, for better ("Swans") and for worse (there's like a nine minute, I guess "secret," song at the end). Honestly, though, it's worth it if only for "Swans," "Humans," "Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby"(best song name/Sly Stone reference in a song name), "Rough Gem," (it's unbelievably catchy). It's at least worth hearing.
I really haven't heard Belle and Sebastian enough. I think I remember liking "We Are the Sleepyheads." I don't think I really heard the rest, because I had heard that it wasn't as good, and I was scared really to hear it, but you make me encouraged to try it.
Yeah, it's dancier than Sunlandic Twins, but I think in a different way. It's a little funkier in parts? I guess. I don't know. I really like "The Past Is a Grotesque Animal." I think that's the one you mean. The opening song and "Gronlandic Edit" I really like right now, too. I heard that much of it was written from the perspective of a black transvestite or something in an apocalyptic city. It would be nice to find out the apocalypse would make us want to dance.
