And the Skies opened up...and the floods came!
Okay...really it was just one big bang and the pipe burst!!! But Man the Flood did come!!!
At work, I'm making a mop bucket. I'm actually doing excellent on time in terms of cleaning and closing duties. But the pipes in the ceiling are making like a "chug chug chug" noise and the *BANG* the water pressure in the tap changed and then suddenly there was tons of water coming down the back wall and from the ceiling. It flooded so fast that by the time the fire department got there and shut off the power and water it was to the front door and ankle deep. Oh and it had gone into the business next door. When the maintenance guy from the building showed up he was like "They told me it was a little leak" Um, yeah...I believe everytime I talked to someone I used the words "water tank" and "explosion!"
But I guess I was just being the hysterical female (even though every time I spoke it was in a calm voice. It's not like I was crying and hyperventilating) But whatever. There's tons of damage. The carpets will need to be pulled up, new drywall on the lower part of the wall. And since the she just closed up 2 clubs in the past 2 months I can see my boss just packing it in. So job has become major issue.
I did lose it once on the phone with my mommy, but I couldn't get a hold of my boss or the landlord. Didn't even occur to me to call fire department. That was Mom's idea! YAY MOMS!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!
