If you can call my life normal, that is. :-) Art's loving the new job. Nice people to work with, and a company that actually takes care of its employees. His hours make it easier riding the motorcycle every day, but he is close enough the carpooling is not a problem when it rains. Since his doing government stuff, he gets government paid days off. First week on the job, and he had a day off. He has another day off tomorrow.
Side effect of the job is that everything else is back to or almost back to normal. Still getting caught up on a couple of things, but that should be taken care of by the middle of this month. It's nice to be back on an even keel. I have to readjust my grocery shopping again to cover 2 weeks instead of one since we both get paid on the same schedule. Shouldn't be too hard. Just have to readjust my thinking. Spent a good bit last week restocking, and will probably do it again this weekend. Getting out of the habit of doing boxed and processed food (they're cheap when you are a very tight fixed budget) and back into homemade and fresh stuff.
Started going to new gym last week. Decided getting up early or getting home late to make it to the little hole-in-the-wall gym near the house wasn't doing it for me. Joined a Gold's Gym about a mile from work so I can go during my lunch hour. They have group classes that I seem to do better with. I'm enjoying the variety (something different every day), having everything set to music, and just the atmosphere in general. Trying new things I've always wanted to do but didn't have the chance.
This past weekend we spent with
spitefiren9 and
southernstyle. Had super nummy food and lots of fun. Computer issues kept us from our original plans Friday night, but we were able to finally make things work Saturday. I told
artemis257 a while ago that I would try City of Heroes drunk. They decided this weekend was that time. I tried to create a character, but got frustrated with the number of choices and not understanding what everything was. Art created a new character for me Saturday, and I will admit I had fun playing. I got a bit frustrated using the keyboard for moving, but I would get more frustrated trying to use the mouse. I'm sure the amount of tequila I was drinking did not help. Played again Sunday and did much better. And apparently I get VERY blood-thirsty and have a VERY dirty mouth when playing drunk. Glad there were no recorders or web-cams. ;-)
I haven't taken any vacation time this year, so I'm probably taking a week off around Christmas. Just not sure of the dates yet. Part of it will depend on what days Art gets off and how much vacation he's earned by that point. Not going anywhere for the holidays, so it will be time spent at home relaxing. Thanksgiving day will definitely be at Art's parents, and I think I will be helping Spitty with her Black Friday shopping. Still trying to talk Art into going with 4x4 and just making a day of it. Naps will be required.
