I'm buying a house!
When we first moved to MN things sucked financially. We had gotten into that horrible accident and it took months to recover from the financial ruins it put us in. I found myself writing bad checks just to feed the kids.. It was THAT bad.. (anyone who knows me well, knows that my history with banking has been spotless)
Anyway, now 7 months later, I am buying a house! We put in the offer two days ago and found out this morning that they accepted. I wrote out an ernest check for $1,000. but we don't close until June 30th because the seller doesn't retire until then and they don't have a place to go until they move to Florida. So, that is the only draw back.
The house is great! It is close to 2500 Sq. Ft. Everything is new, including the roof, hardwood floors, and the exterior of the house was painted last year. It is in a great neighborhood, great schools, growing town (property has been appreciating in Maple Grove at about 8% per year) It is close to everything... Shopping, church, friends houses, parks, schools, lakes. The good thing about the house is that everything has been so well maintained that the only changes or money we will have to put into it is cosmetic. We want to take down the wood paneling in the family room, take down the wall paper in the master bedroom, lighten up the wood in the kitchen... minor things.. Anyway.. we are thrilled, to say the least! Here is a link to pictures of the house..
