90210 2.0
I don't mean to be "spamming" my friends list. I'm just in a posting mood,. Hopefully, I'm not annoying anyone too terribly much.
So Jennie and Shannen are on the cover of Entertaiment Weekly (obviously) and there's a nice-sized interview with them inside. I think they both look great!
Apparently, things have been fine between the 2 women on set. I think for the most part they've buried the hatchet. I've said this before- I'm really excited to see the 2 of them on 90210 and I could kind of care less about the rest of the characters. I read somewhere (TV Guide?) that Kelly's mom has fallen off the wagon again so that's how Kelly ends up with custody of her sister, Erin. Or at least that Erin moves in with her. That kind of bothers me. I know that people can be clean for a long time and then start drinking or doing drugs again, but Jackie was doing so well- why did they have to assassinate her character for the sake of a contrivance? This sounds awfully familiar...:-) Are you telling me that there was no other way to come up with a reason for Erin to have to live with Kelly? I don't think so.
This version of 90210 is going to be racier than the last. According to the interview, a girl gives a guy a blowjob in the first episode! Remember all of the controversy when Brenda and Dylan had sex at the spring dance? Times sure have changed!
Jennie and Shannen claim that they never actually punched each other. Shannen also says that a lot of what Tori Spelling wrote in her book is exaggerated. Shannen is on the cover of US Weekly this week as well and says similar things in that interview.

EW: Okay, but back to the fightfight: fact or fiction?
Jennie: I don't think we ever hit each other.
Shannen: We had our moments.
Jennie: I just remember being outside and the boys having to try to settle us down.
Shannen: No, we never punched each other.
Jennie: Scratching? I'm not going to deny that.
Like I said, In the US Weekly interview, Shannen says that they never got in a fist fight and that she thinks she would remember if Jennie's fist had connected with her face. Or something like that.
I don't think the two of them are going to baking brownies and doing each other's hair, but it seems like they're at least going to be friendly and civil.
All of this new hype for 90210 is bringing back a lot of old memories from when I watched the first time around.

This picture is from the summer season that took place after the first season. I guess it would be considerered the second season then, but anyway, I wonder if Shannen and Jennie already hated each other here? If they did, then I guess they were good at faking their friendship.

This picture is kind of crappy quality. It's from a promo shoot for their freshman year of college. The feud must have been in full swing because this was Shannen's last season on the show.
