Somebody Kill Me Please and Other Random Stuff...

"Somebody kill me" is definitely how I felt yesterday as I was laying in bed with a horrible migraine. Migraines are horrible- I've been getting them since I was 7. Yesterday was a really bad one- complete with several bouts of throwing up (sorry to be gross). I even called in sick for work today. My headache is gone now, but I feel like I have a "headache hangover" if you know what I mean.

I watched the Mark-Paul Gossellar satellite interview from home and I don't think I missed much. The interview was short and kind of lame, although he did look very cute. The lameness was on the part of the interviewer, not Mark-Paul.

This week the Democratic National Convention is taking place in Denver. Supposedly, all sorts of celebrities are in town but I doubt I'll see any of them since I plan on staying as far away as possible from the hoopla and traffic going on downtown as possible. Our features reporter will be on "Celebrity Watch" all week, I think.

Now onto Smallville stuff: Craig from K-Site posted on TWoP that supposedly the episode airing on Sept. 11th is Quest which makes him wonder if the premiere has been pushed back a week. I'm not sure where he got his intel from. If it's from TV Guide or even cwtv.com- they've been wrong before.

I watched some of tasabian's videos (thanks again!) from SFX and I thought that Michael Rosenbaum and Laura Vandervoort had great chemistry! I've always liked Laura and now I feel like I have cold hard proof to justify this. I don't know if I can bring myself to rent "Into the Blue 2" but hopefully, she'll be in something else soon.

Speaking of that, LV announced that she will be shooting one episode sometime in October to wrap up her storyline.  I hope they give her a nice conclusion and send-off.

On the Comic Book Resources website, there's some quotes from MR and LV from the convention. They both mention some "pranks" that Tom played of them. This was Laura's description of hers:
When Welling himself took the director’s chair for an episode, Vandervoort had a hard time on set as it was the first time her character was shot on screen. “[Michael] was supposed to shoot me in the shoulder, and I didn’t know quite how to react to it and make it natural,” she recalled. “[Tom] would count ‘1, 2, 3’ and then they’d shoot it, but I anticipated it so I was tensing up. And he said, ‘Don’t worry, we’re going to try it again.’ Then I saw him whispering to some members of the crew, and he said, ‘Okay, ready? 1, 2…’ and then they shot me. So it was my natural reaction. I gave them the finger, and everyone was laughing.”

In my opinion, that's not a prank, it's just good/smart directing! It's just some more proof of what an awesome and talented guy Tom Welling is. :-)

Andrea_ri posted some deleted scenes from Fierce on her livejournal. I'm assuming that they're going to be on the DVD's. One of the scenes shows the "talent" portion of the Miss Sweet Corn competition and the other shows a convo between Grant and Chloe and a Chloe and Lana reunion. I definitely think that the second scene should have been left in the episode. It would have explained so much. They could have even trimmed down the Grant and Chloe part if they had to. And they definitely could have taken out some of the nonsense from what we actually saw on air. I would have liked to hear a  DVD commentary on Fierce if only to find out "what were they thinking?!?!?" I wonder if TPTB think that it was a great episode or if they'd admit it was a bit of a disaster like they did with Thirst and Ageless? Maybe the Season 7 Companion Book will offer some insight into that...
