Two Joonew Drabbles

sunday morning; pg; fluff; 161

It’s one of those cool mornings. The coolness on your face is counterbalanced by the fact that you’re wrapped up in piles and piles of blankets.

Jinki loves those kinds of mornings. He’s torn between getting up early and enjoying the morning and staying in bed, just snuggling in his blankets.

Of course, staying in bed has its advantages.

“Jinki-yah,” Changsun says, stretching, “what time is it?” Jinki flips over and smiles widely at him.

“It’s almost nine, hyung,” Jinki grins. Changsun just groans and throws his arm lazily over Jinki’s torso.

“We have more time to sleep, then,” Changsun replies with a yawn. Jinki just smiles and snuggles closer to Changsun, which evokes a slight grin from the older. He pulls Jinki closer towards him with a satisfied hum.

Jinki thinks Changsun has fallen asleep until he speaks again.

“Jinki-yah?” he asks sleepily.

“Hm?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too, hyung.” Jinki smiles. He loves these kinds of mornings.

“Leave!” Jinki shouted, tears streaming down his face.

“But Jinki, what-” Changsun began.

“I said leave!” Jinki yelled again.

“Fine! I will! I'm better off without you anyway!”

“I was always better off without you! I don't know why I've stayed with you for this long!”

“Yeah? Well I never lov-I never lo...I hate you!” Changsun cried as he finally, finally left the apartment. As soon as the door slammed shut, Jinki collapsed on the floor, a pile of pitiful sniffles and regretful tears.

He hadn't meant any of it. He knew he never meant any of it the second the betrayed expression appeared on Changsun's face.

But the damage was done. Changsun-Jinki’s beloved, ever-stubborn Changsun-was gone for good.

Two and a half blissful years down the drain all because of one idiotic fight. Jinki already couldn't even remember exactly what the argument was about.

It was like how he imagined death; all the memories of his time with Changsun flashing by him: The time they went biking. The time they went to the patisserie. The time they went to the play. The first time they slept together. Every single time after that. The vacation to Hawaii they'd taken. Everything gone.

Jinki's tears only intensified with these thoughts.

Why had he said it? Why had he told Changsun to leave? How was he supposed to live without him?

Jinki sat motionless in the middle of the apartment, wondering what he could possibly do next. Nothing came to mind.

Changsun walked down the street in a state of grief and confusion. What had he done? He couldn't remember why Jinki had sent him away. What was it that was going on with Jinki? How could Changsun possibly find a way to apologize for something he didn't even know he did?

Before he knew it, tears were falling from his eyes. He hadn't meant any of it, but he was glad that at least he wasn't able to say that he'd never loved Jinki. Because not only would that be a blatant and horrible lie, it would have destroyed both of them.

He found himself missing that dazzling smile, the way Jinki's eyes transformed into gleeful little slits when he grinned. He missed that angelic voice and adorable clumsiness.

He had to go back. To make everything right. He turned on his heel and ran.

Jinki raced down the street, desperately hoping Changsun would still be in the area. He needed to apologize. He needed Changsun back and he hoped Changsun would take him.

Jinki had to bawl when he saw Changsun running towards him.

“I'm sorry,” Jinki sobbed. “I thought...I thought you didn't love me anymore.” Changsun wrapped his arms around Jinki's waist, as if to tell him that he'd never let him go again.

“Oh, Jinki,” he sighed, half-laughing and half-crying, “isn't it obvious you're all I see?”

“I didn't mean any of it, hyung. I love you.”

“I love you too,” Changsun said, crying as he pressed his lips lightly and lovingly to Jinki's. “I love you.”
